The Science of Hydration

What with the record temperatures across Europe and the World Cup’s ‘hydration breaks’, a

recent article from the BBC about hydration and hydration tech couldn’t have been more timely.

It covered the tech – or ‘gadgets’ – currently available to monitor hydration and revealed

What caught our attention however was the findings of a 2018 study by Andreas Fouris of

the University of Thessaly in Greece. It showed – on the base of an admittedly small sample

– that 70% of European workers tested were dehydrated to a level that could negatively

affect their thinking and control of their movements.
